“Skeppsudden is more than a place. It is a living experiment in what becomes possible when people come together in service of life.”

Rooted between forest and sea, it is an evolving ecosystem of people, ideas, gardens, buildings, celebrations, challenges, and quiet mornings. A place where purpose is discovered rather than dictated, where leadership is practiced as stewardship, and where we try, imperfectly, curiously, and wholeheartedly, to create conditions in which both people and nature can flourish.

We believe the world does not need more perfect systems. It needs more living ones. Systems that can listen, learn, adapt, and evolve. Skeppsudden is our attempt to practice exactly that: to build a place where ecology, community, meaningful work, beauty, and inner development are not separate pursuits, but expressions of the same living whole.

Nothing here is ever truly finished. Paths move. Gardens grow. Ideas evolve. People arrive, contribute, leave, and sometimes return. The place keeps teaching us, if we are willing to listen.

If this resonates with something in you, perhaps Skeppsudden is already a little bit yours too.

Skeppsudden, by the waters of Bråviken

The world can wait a while.

Water at the edge of the garden. Paths disappearing into the trees. Let the everyday fall a little further away, and take your time arriving.

Follow the rhythm of the place

Let the body lead.

Bare feet on a wooden floor. A room finding its rhythm. Through dance, movement and guided practice, a retreat can offer a different way to explore, express and connect.

Find your own rhythm.

These are moments from Ecstatic Fusion at Skeppsudden. Each retreat has its own guides, activities and rhythm. Explore the programme to find what feels right for you.

Leave a little room for nothing.

A practice in the morning light. A book by the water. Tea without watching the clock. There is room here for the spaces between the sessions, too.

Small rituals. Unhurried company.

Some things don’t need words.

A drum held in the hands. A melody carried into the garden. Sound can gather a room, move a body or make space for listening. Follow the music, wherever the programme takes you.

Some of the best conversations begin between sessions. Over a shared meal, a cup of tea, or a little longer at the table. Ordinary moments become part of the retreat.

Good company. Time for another conversation.

Come as you are. Be here together.

You might come with friends, or arrive knowing no one. Sharing a few days creates space to meet, listen, laugh and find your own place in the gathering.

Stay for the changing light.

The day opens into evening. The water darkens, the garden glows, and the gathering finds another rhythm.

The soul of the venue

Every corner has a story.

For more than thirty years, the houses and gardens of Skeppsudden have grown into a home for retreats. There is soul in every building and along every path through the garden.

Look a little closer and the place keeps revealing itself: a sculpture among the trees, a hand-painted door, a lantern by the steps, a bell on the veranda. Even the colours of Skeppsudden’s visual identity come from its houses.
